Hive Explorer, screen by screen

Short answer

Hive Explorer opens the App Store market in 62 storefronts: daily top charts, category moves, new apps, any app's keywords and watchlists that alert you. Each section below covers one screen.

Set up Explorer

Setup asks three things, and you can skip any of them:

  • Your market: up to five storefronts, up to three categories and the chart you follow.
  • First watchlist: the top 20 of that chart, with eight apps already ticked.
  • Alerts: how often you hear about changes, by email or in Slack.

Every screen then shares one bar: storefront, chart (Top free, Top paid, Top grossing or iPad) and category.

Market pulse

The first screen: what moved in your market this week.

  • Four cards: moves this week, new entrants in the last 7 days, the biggest riser and watchlist events in the last 24 hours. Each card opens its screen.
  • The biggest moves of the last 7 days, with the rank now, the rank a week ago and the publisher.
  • A map of six storefronts and seven categories, yours first, shows where the market is moving. A cell opens Category trends.

Top charts

The top 100 of the chart you picked, as of its latest day.

  • Compare each rank with 1, 7 or 30 days ago.
  • Search the list, select apps and add them to a watchlist.
  • Export the list as CSV or XLSX.

Who rose, fell, entered or left a chart over 7, 30 or 90 days.

  • Four tabs, each with its count: rising, falling, entered and left.
  • With all categories selected, a bar chart shows each category's moves up and down; a bar filters to that category.
  • Watch or export any of the rows.

New entrants

Apps seen on a chart for the first time in the last 7 or 30 days, in this storefront or in all of them.

  • Each row shows the first-seen day, where, the entry rank, the chart and the publisher.
  • When some days in the window are missing, the screen says how many days it covers.
  • Save the view as a search in App finder, watch the apps or export them.

App finder

Find apps by what they are rather than by name.

  • Filter by category, storefront, release date, best chart rank, monthly revenue, monthly downloads, 30-day growth, chart, publisher or a word in the name.
  • Ready searches get you started: released in the last 30 days, top 50 grossing, grew 25% or more in 30 days, over $10K a month.
  • Save up to 25 searches and get an alert when new apps match.

Publisher lookup

Everything one publisher has on the charts.

  • Start from one of their apps, or paste a developer link or ID.
  • Each app shows the day and storefront where it was first seen; one tap opens its keywords in Keyword spy.
  • Watch all of their apps in one list, or export them.

Keyword spy

The keywords any app ranks for in a storefront.

  • For each keyword: the app's rank, popularity, difficulty and change, and whether you already track it.
  • Compare up to 5 apps side by side to see which keywords each one ranks for and which it misses.
  • There is no monthly count: look at as many apps as you need.

Keyword research

Research a keyword in any country before you use it.

  • Popularity and how it changed, monthly searches, difficulty and how many apps compete.
  • Suggestions around the keyword, in suggestion order or with popular and easy ones first.
  • Compare up to five countries, save ideas to a list and export them as CSV.

Watchlists

Up to 10 lists of 50 apps each.

  • A timeline of every change: chart entries and exits, rank moves, price, name, subtitle, description, screenshots, version, new storefronts and new apps.
  • Add apps by search, or paste app IDs or links.
  • Share a list with your workspace.

Alerts

One alert rule per watchlist.

  • Alerts go to email, Slack, Telegram or a webhook.
  • Get them instantly, as a daily or weekly digest, or only for big moves. You set the smallest rank move that counts (20 by default).
  • Every alert sent is listed under the rules.

Exports

Download any Explorer view as CSV or XLSX.

  • Up to 10,000 rows per export and 50 exports a day.
  • Run an export once, or every week or month to a list of email addresses.
  • Download links last 7 days.

Account

Your Explorer subscription in one place.

  • Seats: 3 included, more can be added up to 10, and invites can be limited to your domain.
  • API and MCP credits: what's included, what each one used and any top-up balance.
  • History: how far back the charts go, with the first day shown.
