How the check works
- Each file's size is matched against every size the store lists for a display; one image can fit several.
- Transparency is read from the file itself, so a PNG that looks opaque but carries an alpha channel is flagged.
- Fit keeps the whole image and adds margins in your colour. Fill covers the frame and crops what spills over.
- A resized shot is still the same screenshot: if the layout was made for another screen, it is better to export it again at the right size.
The calculation runs in your browser; everything you type stays on your device.

Common questions
What size are App Store screenshots in 2026?
iPhone apps need at least one screenshot at a Dynamic Island medium size (1206×2622 or 1179×2556), plus the large size: 1320×2868, 1290×2796 or 1260×2736, or Face ID large at 1284×2778 or 1242×2688. iPad apps also need 13-inch shots at 2064×2752 or 2048×2732. Smaller displays are scaled from these.
Can App Store screenshots have a transparent background?
No. Both stores want PNG or JPEG without an alpha channel. The checker flags transparent PNGs and saves resized files without transparency.
What size are Google Play screenshots?
Each side between 320 and 3840 pixels, with the long side at most twice the short one. For screenshots Google Play can feature, use at least 1080 pixels on the short side, such as 1080×1920. You can add 2 to 8 phone screenshots; the feature graphic is 1024×500.
