Indie ASO tools, checked one by one

Below the €79 platforms there is a second tier: small tools, often one or two people, priced between $9 and $39. Lists of them circulate widely and are mostly copied from each other. We checked this one on the day it was published, opening each vendor's own pricing page — and that alone changed two entries.

ASO.dev's entry Console tier explicitly excludes ASO analytics and keyword tracking; its first tier with rankings is Indie at $39/seat/month ($29 billed yearly), with 30 days of history. Sonar's figures are from its own pricing page; Storelift is ours.

One of them is gone

Applyra appears in most indie ASO lists at $9.99/month with unlimited keywords. On 18 August 2026 its domain resolves to a GoDaddy sale page: applyra.com is for sale.

We are not reporting this to score a point — a small tool shutting down is the ordinary risk of the tier, and ours is a small tool too. We are reporting it because it was still listed as live in our own market research five days earlier, and because it is exactly what a list copied from another list cannot tell you.

Two real disagreements in this tier

1 · Who holds the keys. RespectASO is open source under AGPL-3.0, runs locally, and takes your own LLM key — or a model on your own Mac — with no platform markup. Its Pro licence is a one-time $249 for a year that never auto-renews. That is a genuinely different shape from a monthly SaaS and, if data staying on your machine matters, there is no argument to have.

2 · Where demand comes from. ASO.dev surfaces Search Ads Popularity for every keyword, and it also ships an SAP Detector that tracks how that score moves over time. Building a detector for a metric's instability is an honest engineering response to a real problem — and it is also a description of the problem: the number moves for reasons that have nothing to do with your app. Storelift declines to show a volume column at all and reads demand from autocomplete instead.

Neither disagreement has an obvious winner. They are the two questions actually worth asking before you pick a tool in this tier.

Named, but not verified

These circulate in the same lists. We could not confirm their pricing today and are not printing a number we did not read:

When we verify one, it moves up into the table with the date it was read.

Frequently asked

Which indie ASO tool is cheapest?

Two are free at the entry point and mean different things by it. RespectASO is free and open source, running on your own machine with your own AI key. Storelift's free tier is hosted and measures one app in one storefront nightly. On paid tiers Sonar is the cheapest per keyword by a wide margin.

Why is ASO.dev listed at $39 when it advertises $19?

Because its $19 Console tier states that it has no ASO analytics or keyword tracking. The first tier that tracks rankings is Indie at $39 per seat per month. Both numbers are in the table for that reason.

How often is this page rechecked?

Every price carries the date it was read. This tier moves quickly — one tool on this page shut down within a week of our market research — so a figure more than a few months old should be checked against the vendor's page before you decide.
