# App Store and Google Play keyword rank checker URL: https://storelift.net/tools/rank-check Language: en Updated: 2026-09-12 Enter an App Store link or app id, or a Google Play link or package name, plus a keyword and a storefront. For the App Store the tool sends that keyword to Apple's public search for that country, asks for up to 200 results and counts where your app appears. For Google Play it opens Play's public search page in that country's language; that page shows only the first ~30 results, so a Play answer never goes deeper than that, and Play search shows no rating counts. There are three possible answers and they are kept apart: a rank; measured but not among the results the store showed; or not measured, because Apple or Google did not answer. A search that failed is never shown as a lost rank. The tool needs no account and allows a limited number of checks a day. ## Common questions ### Where does this tool get the rank from? On the App Store we call Apple's public search with your keyword, storefront and its language; on Google Play we open the same keyword on Play's public search page. Either way we count your app's position in the list. The dashboard's daily App Store measurement uses the same request. ### Why do I see a different rank on my phone? If your phone is signed in to another country's store, the list is different. Results can also change during the day; the tool shows the rank at the moment of measurement and prints when that was. ### What does "not in the first N" mean? The measurement ran, but your app is not in the list the store returned for that search. That is different from "not measured", where the store didn't answer; we show the two separately. ### Can I check Google Play ranks too? Yes, to a limited depth. Google Play has no official search API, and its public search page shows only the first ~30 results. If your app isn't there we say "not in the first 30" and don't guess a deeper position. Play search results don't show rating counts, so we don't show them for Play either. ### How many times a day can I use it? 20 checks a day without signing up. If the same app, keyword and storefront are asked again within 6 hours, we answer from the earlier measurement and it doesn't use up a check.
