# Where do you rank in App Store search? URL: https://storelift.net/ Language: en Updated: 2026-09-12 Daily measurement on the App Store and Google Play: where you rank, who stands above you, and whether the term is searched. One input — your store link. ## From a store link to a measurement - **Paste your store link** — Your app, its icon and its current title and subtitle are read. - **Add your keywords** — You say which searches you want to show up in. The storefront is your pick too. - **The run happens** — Rank, rivals, demand and text are read in one run. ## Where you stand in the store ### Not one rank — where all your keywords sit How many of your terms are in the top 3, how many in the top 10, and whether that count moved this week. Ranked, not listed and not measured stay apart: folding the last two together flatters the picture. - **Day-by-day ranges** — Each day’s range comes from that day’s own measurement. - **200 ranks deep on iOS** — On Play, as deep as the store answers: the first 30. - **Press a band, get the list** — The keywords in the band you pick are listed underneath. - **Change markers** — Version and metadata changes sit on the chart itself. ### The ratings wall, not a difficulty score The number beside a term is how many ratings the strongest app in its top 10 carries: the raw count under the difficulty score, so you see the wall you have to clear. - **The ratings wall** — The most ratings among the top 10 — the count you need to pass, as a plain number. - **Rank history** — One keyword’s best, worst and current rank. - **Up to 1 year on Studio** — 6 months on Pro, 30 days on the free plan; longer on Agency and Enterprise. - **Per storefront** — Every country storefront is measured on its own. ### Competitors are profiled, not counted An app that hasn’t shipped in a year is a different opponent than one shipping monthly — and that is a date, not an opinion. - **Directly above you** — The three apps standing in front of you on a term. - **Terms you are missing** — Words the rival ranks on and you do not. - **Last ship date** — How often they ship is a date, not an opinion. - **Reverse index** — How many of your apps the same rival stands against. ### Gaps into text, inside the hundred characters Apple indexes title, subtitle and the keyword field together. Repeating a title word costs characters and buys nothing, so those words are dropped. - **Counted to the character** — The counter is the length of the field itself, separators included. - **Title words dropped** — Repeating a title word costs characters and buys nothing. - **Which slot indexes what** — The second listing slot is not the same language on every storefront. - **Free tool, in your browser** — Paste your keywords and the packer runs on the page. ### A term nobody searches is not a gap Autocomplete is asked for every term in the same pass as the rank. Zero suggestions is a measurement and we print the zero. A failed request is not, and never becomes one. - **Same pass as the rank** — Autocomplete is asked for every term in the same pass. - **Zero is printed** — Zero suggestions is a measurement, and we print the zero. - **A failed request is not zero** — It is written as not measured and stays that way. - **The long tail** — Suggestions carry the terms you can actually enter. ## Same skeleton, three different mornings The screens don’t change between plans; what changes is how many rows you’re looking at on a Monday. ### You wrote the metadata yourself and want to know if it worked One developer · one app · Free One app, two storefronts, 25 keywords in each, measured every day with no end date. The rank and the ratings wall answer the only question you have: is this term reachable at 9 ratings, or not. - 1 app, 25 keywords - 30 days of history - Rank distribution and the ratings wall ### You ship metadata every week and need to see what moved Two or three apps · Pro 5 apps, 250 keywords, every storefront we measure, 3 seats and 6 months of rank history. Competitor overlap and gaps-into-text run on all of them in the same pass. - 5 apps, 250 keywords - 175 storefronts, 6 months of rank history - 3 seats · PDF · Excel · CSV ### You open a list every morning, not an app Agency or portfolio · Studio Portfolio screens make “app” a column, not a filter chip: 500 keywords, 10 seats, AI visibility and reports under your client’s name. The API and MCP server arrive one tier earlier, on Pro. - Unlimited apps, 500 keywords, 10 seats - Portfolio view - AI visibility measurement ## Measure something before you sign up ### Keyword field packer Paste your title, subtitle and target terms. The packer removes what Apple already indexes from the title, sorts what’s left by demand and fills the 100 characters. ### Campaign link builder Tag an App Store or Google Play link so your own console tells you which channel the installs came from. The whole calculation runs in your browser. ## What a measurement costs - **Free** — Rank, ratings wall and demand signal · Three measurement states, same as paid · All eight free tools - **Pro** — Competitor overlap and gaps-into-text · Keyword discovery, one run a week · PDF, Excel and CSV export · API and MCP server - **Studio** — AI visibility · Reports under your client’s name and logo · Invite clients as viewers of your workspace ## Frequently asked questions ### How do you access my app? Rank tracking needs no access: we read the public face of the store (search results, the app page, autocomplete, reviews). All it takes is your app's store link and an email address. For revenue and ad screens you can optionally connect App Store Connect, Play, RevenueCat or Apple Ads. ### What happens on a day you can't measure? That day is written as "not measured" and the chart breaks the line. We never write zero. A zero rank describes a collapse that didn't happen, and once it enters the history every average built on top of it is wrong. Averages are computed over the days we could read. ### Are the ranks identical to the store? Apple's public search service tracks store ranking closely but isn't guaranteed identical, and the store personalizes per user. That's why movement matters more than the absolute number — 7 and 30-day deltas sit next to every rank. ### Why top ~30 on Android? Google Play offers no official search service; its search page returns roughly 20-30 results at a time. We print the depth we saw: "not ranked" here means "not in the first ~30". ### Which language slot should my keywords go in? The slot the storefront actually indexes. In the Türkiye storefront the second listing slot is English (U.K.); a Turkish keyword written into the wrong slot never enters search. The keyword field packer shows the second slot for the store country you pick, with no account. ### How often is the data refreshed? One measurement pass runs every night, reading roughly 800 keyword×country units. Select more than that and countries rotate, so each refreshes on the interval the screen prints. You can also start a measurement by hand — 3 a day on Free, 10 on Pro, 25 on Studio. ### What don't you measure? Three things. Search volume: Apple keeps it private; you get a 0–100 demand signal, a band and its basis. A rival's real downloads and revenue: only labelled App Intelligence estimates. Past our read depth (top 200 on the App Store, top 30 on Play) no rank is guessed; we say "not in the top 200". ## More - [Pricing](https://storelift.net/pricing) - [Guides](https://storelift.net/guide/) - [Comparisons](https://storelift.net/compare/) - [Türkçe](https://storelift.net/tr/)
