# Turn app review themes into better listing messages URL: https://storelift.net/guide/reviews-to-listing-messages/ Language: en Updated: 2026-10-02 Reviews can reveal how users describe an app's value and where the listing creates wrong expectations. They are a qualitative research input, not a complete picture of all users. Keep the original context and distinguish a product defect from a communication problem. ## Investigation steps 1. Group available reviews by recurring task, praised outcome and unmet expectation. Retain date, locale and version context where available; one memorable comment is not a recurring theme. 2. Check each theme against the current product. Send defects and missing capabilities to product work. Consider listing changes only where the supported experience can be described more accurately. 3. Draft a message hypothesis in your own words and compare it with the current listing. Avoid presenting selected comments as a representative satisfaction statistic. ## Worked interpretation Illustrative case: several recent reviews say users did not realize an existing feature was available. A clearer screenshot message is a reasonable hypothesis. If users instead report that the feature fails, a new screenshot does not fix the underlying problem. ## Decision and next check Keep a short theme-to-action table with supporting observations, owner and review date. After a product or listing change, inspect new reviews for the same expectation gap while keeping the sample limitations visible. ## Related Storelift feature Read App review monitoring for the available product data and its scope.
